We like the look of the new Pixma TS5050 Inkjet printer! Canon has rounded the corners and reduced the footprint by forty percent, forming an attractive smaller box. The angle of the front panel can be adjusted and contains a 7.5cm touchscreen display which controls functions and applications.
The TS5050 features borderless and two sided printing with a resolution up to 4800x1200dpi. Optimistic print speeds are quoted at 12.6 pm mono, and 9 pm colour. The addition of a new rear paper tray allows for thicker media, including envelopes and Canon photo paper up to 300g/m2.
The CIS Scanner has a resolution of 1200 x 2400dpi and can scan an A4 document in 19 seconds. Document copying in 20 seconds.
Print from USB, SD memory card, a PC/Tablet/Smartphone via WiFi Direct, or the Cloud using the improved Canon PRINT app for Android and iOS. Wi-Fi Direct and 'Access Point Mode' allows you to connect directly to the printer without a router, making life easier for your friends and family.
Apart from the revised and improved style of the case, the TS5050 shares the same specifications to the older Pixma MG5750, with the addition of the new rear paper feed. Like the previous model, the TS5050 uses five ChromaLife100 ink tanks, PGI-570 BK black, and CLI-571 BK/C/M/Y. Compatible version cartridges are available, but remain a little expensive.
The Canon Pixma TS5050 is currently selling for around £90. More details to follow shortly.
